The Grand Ethio-African Run is a groundbreaking event designed to celebrate and strengthen the diplomatic, cultural, and athletic ties between Ethiopia, Africa, and the UAE. Scheduled for April 6, 2025, this unique event will bring together approximately 3,000 participants, including diplomats, expatriates, athletes, and members of the general public. Organized in collaboration with Dubai Sports Council and the Ethiopian Ministry of Tourism, the event will focus on promoting health, fitness, and cultural exchange, while positioning Dubai as a key global destination for international sporting and community events.

Race Categories

5KM Run:

Open to all fitness levels.

1KM Kids’ Fun Run:

Designed for children aged 6-12 to encourage early engagement in sports.

Venue setup for race number and t-shirt distribution.

April 6, 2025 (Morning - Until Lunchtime)

The main race event at Al Mamzar Park (Parking Front Location).

Proposed Route

Starting Point:

Inside Al Mamzar Park, located in front of the running track.

Route Details:

A scenic and safe route inside and outside the park, avoiding high-traffic areas and utilizing the parking road. The route is designed to ensure a smooth and enjoyable running experience for all participants.

Finish Line:

The race will conclude at the Al Mamzar Park Amphitheatre, where a temporary stage will be set up for closing activities, celebrations, and award ceremonies.

Alongside the run, a Cultural Village will be set up to celebrate Ethiopian and African heritage, featuring:

  • Live Music & Performances – Traditional Ethiopian and African music, dance, and performances.
  • Food Stalls – Authentic Ethiopian and African dishes.
  • Art Exhibitions – Showcasing traditional crafts, paintings, and sculptures.
  • Fashion Show: Local designers will showcase traditional clothing to celebrate the fusion of Ethiopian, African, and UAE cultures through entertainment and sports diplomacy.
